The Nova Scotia government is blocking our MDs from testing Vitamin D and instead forcing a blanket recommendation of 1000 IU Vitamin D3 per day. In  99% of people 1000 IU is not even sufficient to MAINTAIN their current levels in their blood. The levels continue to fall and for some it can quickly reach Rickets Levels!

To ensure the ideal blood concentration we need to test! There is individuality on how much Vitamin D one needs to supplement to get into the zone. Nova Scotians typically have blood levels of 40-75 nmol/L, less than half the concentration needed to create the ideal metabolism and healing environment. For more on WHY we need Vitamin D see earlier post: Vitamin D as The True Root Cause

  • 20% of us will need only 2 times the maintenance dose to get into the ideal zone within 5-6 weeks.
  • 80% will need much more, aggressive dosing of 3-5 times the maintenance dose will be needed. Likely if the person is overweight, battling chronic disease or inflammation.
